The project, which spanned three weeks, focused on restoring degraded riverbanks and improving fish habitat. Volunteers and association members worked tirelessly to remove invasive species, stabilize eroding banks, and plant native vegetation. The goal was to create a more natural and healthy environment for fish and other aquatic life. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to protecting and enhancing the aquatic ecosystems in our region.
Specific activities included installing coir logs to prevent erosion, planting native trees and shrubs to provide shade and cover for fish, and creating spawning beds for trout. We also worked to remove debris and pollutants from the river, improving water quality. The project was a collaborative effort, involving local businesses, government agencies, and community members.
The positive impact of this restoration project is already evident. Fish populations have increased in the restored area, and the riverbanks are more stable and resilient. We are grateful to all the volunteers and partners who contributed to the success of this project. We will continue to monitor the site and implement further restoration efforts as needed.
